gWind™ Wired Wind Sensor

  • Three-bladed propeller for more accurate True Wind Speed (TWS) in lighter air
  • Twin-fin design gives a more stable True Wind Angle (TWA)
  • Optical reading technique for superior performance at low wind speeds with excellent linearity
  • GND™ 10 black box bridges NMEA 2000® data to Nexus Network and enables Garmin-compatible chartplotters to integrate with Nexus sail equipment and vice versa
  • Easy plug-and-play installation between Nexus, Garmin chartplotters, NMEA 2000, and USB

The gWind transducer features twin-fin technology with a 3-bladed propeller for more accurate TWS in lighter air, while the twin-fin design gives a more stable TWA. The 3-bladed propeller, unlike a cup design, is always efficient. Combined with optic reading, this transducer provides superior accuracy at low wind speeds and also provides excellent linearity.

The included GND 10 black box bridge enables the Nexus Network and compatible Garmin chartplotters to share critical NMEA 2000 data. The GND 10 enables Garmin chartplotter owners to use Nexus sail equipment and vice versa. Available in 2 bundles (sold separately).

Airmar® DST820 Smart Transducer

This plastic thru-hull NMEA 2000® smart transducer combines precise depth, speed, and temperature signals with attitude sensing for heel/trim and pitch/roll data. It can read depths to 330 feet and offers fast 5 Hz water speed signal output for smoother visualization on compatible chartplotters or other displays.

Wireless Bluetooth® connectivity makes it easy to manage calibration of sensor data through the AIRMAR Cast™ app interface. And the 235 kHz sensor operating frequency helps prevent mutual interference with other echosounder devices on the vessel. The transducer’s wide, fan-shaped beamwidth of 10 x 44 degrees enables it to find bottom even when installed on steep deadrise hulls or heeling sailboats.

Specifications:

  • Transducer frequency: 235 kHz
  • Transducer power: 100 W
  • Transducer beamwidth: 10 x 44 degrees
  • Transducer maximum depth: 330 ft
  • Transducer depth/speed/temperature: Depth, Temperature, and Speed
  • Transducer number of pins: NMEA 2000
  • Transducer supported deadrise/transom angles: 0 to 22 degrees
